The publication drop-down provides lists of publications queued for curation activity, which may be either initial curation or review, or the list of curated publications with the number of associated statements (which are not equivalent to RDF triples).
The taxonomy drop-down provides two reports. The taxonomy coverage report compares taxon counts in NCBI Taxonomy, the World Catalog of Arachnids, and Catalog of Life. NCBI is updated weekly, the WCA monthly, and CoL approximately monthly. The other report lists curated (or potentially curated) taxa that are not in NCBI but have alternate identifiers in WCA or CoL (e.g., for non-Arachnids). Not all taxa listed here appear in curated publications.
The vocabulary drop-down provides a link to the developing spider behavior vocabulary, which has been developed from multiple sources and is undergoing refinement. There is also a page describing the other ontologies and vocabularies used in this knowledge base.
Behaviors are the smallest unit of behavior recorded in an annotation. Although they commonly refer to a simple motion of a single body part, that is always the case. Each will refer to an action/process from the spider behavior ontology, the Neuro-Behavior Ontology (NBO), or less frequently, the Gene Ontology (GO). Most behaviors will also refer to one or more anatomical or substrate entities, most commonly from the Spider biology ontology (SPD), Uberon (from non-spider animals), or Plant Ontology (PO) for substrate entities.
